Amelia Johnson
Amelia Johnson is a dedicated professional with a diverse background in sports, community engagement, and marine sciences. She earned her bachelor's degree in Marine Biology from Old Dominion University. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended the University of Miami for a masters in Tropical Marine Ecosystem Management. Originally from Prince George County, Virginia, Amelia now works on the operations staff at Henrico Sports and Events Center in Glen Allen, Virginia, where she has played a pivotal role in event coordination, community outreach, and marketing support.
In addition to her work at the sports center, Amelia holds a graduate assistant position in sport operations at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She also volunteers at Bon Air Detention Center with the Youth Justice Sport Partnership program, promoting positive character development amongst the inmates while participating in different sporting events. Her background as a former competitive field hockey player at the collegiate level has helped her cultivate a strong work ethic, teamwork, and leadership skills, which she applies in all aspects of her career.
